Louis van Gaal has confirmed Wayne Rooney and Luke Shaw are unavailable for Sunday’s Premier League game at home to Arsenal.
Rooney made way for Radamel Falcao after picking up a dead leg, while Shaw took a punch in his face, both during last weekend’s 2-1 win at Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, Robin van Persie is fit to face his former club after missing the trip to Selhurst Park through virus infection.
Argentinian duo Angel Di Maria and Marcos Rojo are both available.
“The situation is not positive for us, they cannot play, neither of them,” Van Gaal told MUTV, when quizzed on Rooney and Shaw
“Yes, it is a short-term thing, we have only one match to play [after Arsenal], so I think it will be difficult for them to play again this season.
“Angel Di Maria and Robin van Persie are able to play. Rojo has trained this week with us and he could play.”
